Pull DawgThe story and mission behind Pull Dawg Publications
Pull Dawg Publications was founded with a single purpose: to make available quality and practical religious materials to the brotherhood of the churches of Christ and to the world at large.
With an emphasis on Christian apologetics, Pull Dawg Publications addresses the pressing problems of our era through carefully researched biblical scholarship. We are also willing to consider publication of other sound materials as per negotiations with their authors.
Phillip A. Gray is the founder and primary author of Pull Dawg Publications, a teaching ministry rooted in the churches of Christ. Based in Bremen, Georgia, Phillip has dedicated himself to producing sound, practical materials that equip Christians with tools for effective apologetics and deeper biblical understanding.
Phillip is a graduate of Greater Atlanta Christian School (Norcross, GA), Freed-Hardeman University (Henderson, TN, A.A.), Bethel College (McKenzie, TN, B.A.), Erskine Theological Seminary (Due West, SC, D.Min.), and Amridge University (Montgomery, AL, M.A., M.Div., Ph.D.).
Since 1977 he has preached the gospel in Georgia, Tennessee, Alabama, and Louisiana. For over two decades he also conducted a Spanish-language outreach as an itinerant missionary to Latin American nations including Honduras, Guatemala, Cuba, and Chile, and for a quarter century he presented Spanish-language radio broadcasts over shortwave stations reaching all of Latin America, with an emphasis on Cuba.
Presently, Phillip serves as evangelist for the Buchanan, Georgia church of Christ, is an instructor in Apologetics and the Bible at Asian Christian University in Pangasinan, Philippines, and is the spokesman for the syndicated radio broadcast Ancient Truth, which airs principally in Georgia and other parts of the southeastern United States.
For fifteen years Phillip was owner/operator of the trucking firm Pull Dawg Heavy Hauling, LLC, from which he has since retired — though the LLC lives on as the umbrella for Pull Dawg Publications.
Phillip is the son of veteran gospel preacher R. W. (Bob) Gray and Betty M. Gray, who together served for decades in Georgia Outreach ministries — and two of his father's own books are also published by Pull Dawg Publications (see the Catalog). He is married to the former Betty Sue Smith of Jackson, Tennessee, and is the father of three daughters and grandfather of nine.
